Japanese Performance Cars in the UK
The Drift Bible is something of a legend for wanna-be drifters. Presented by Keiichi Tsuchiya - the Drift King - this DVD demonstrates in detail the technique behind drifting. Multiple cameras provide in-car views providing views of the cockpit, footwell and rpm. Equipped witha brake light at the front of the car provides further indication as to braking points and speeds used to initiate the weight transition into a drift via steering, pedal and handbrake technique as well as the lines to take out on track.
The Drift Bible DVD focusses on six techniques all of which can be combined and refined through additional elements of control such as heel-and-toe to accommodate additional variables like a large weight transition. Unless you're lucky enough to understand Japanese you'll have to put up with a rather dull commentary. Tsuchiya highlights everything from a basic “Slide” to “Lift-Off” to steering techniques.
Having demonstrated the basics in the ever popular drift machine - Nissan's Silvia, the Drift King demonstrates the different weight transition characteristics between the classic Toyota AE86 Corolla, Nissan S14 200sx, and Toyota's mid-engined MR2. Gravity balls display further just how each car is reacting. Tsuchiya covers the modifications required to take your car drifting. For anyone that has grabbed their keys and running to the door to try out their new found skills, Ebisu Circuit Driftland will break your heart. This is a drifters playground - if only such a place existed here in the UK!
All in all it's a great DVD whether starting out drifting, or you're looking to tame your crazy power slides. JDMMOBILES do always recommend drifting in the safety of organised events and competions, not out on the open touge.
